In this regard, the Russian embassy asked the Berlin authorities to immediately cancel the ban on the display of Victory Day symbols.
Moscow further demanded the lifting of the ban on the planned memorial ceremony in Berlin.
However, the German police had previously announced such prohibitions: on May 8 and 9, carrying the Russian flag, St. George’s ribbon, symbols Z and V, wearing military uniforms or parts thereof, or playing military music at the Soviet memorial will not be allowed.
This is while a similar ban was overturned in the courts last year on Victory Day on May 8 and 9, before the police appealed the decision.
