report Mehr News Agency quoted from Al Jazeera, at least 28 people died due to flooding and cold lava left by the eruption of a volcano in western Indonesia.
According to the announcement of the Jakarta National Rescue Organization, floods and cold lava have flowed in the regions of “Agam” and “Tana Datar” located in West Sumatra.

Abd al-Malik, head of the regional relief department, said that at least four people are still missing. Cold lava, also called “lahar” or “mud river”, is volcanic material such as ash, sand, and pebbles that flow down from the crater of a volcano after rain. Officials have said that 9 victims have been identified, including two children aged 3 and 8.
National Relief Organization officials say that according to the latest estimates, 84 residential units and 16 bridges have been affected by this disaster.
Due to the climatic conditions, Indonesia is always exposed to floods, landslides, volcanic eruptions and natural disasters. In March, floods and landslides in West Sumatra killed at least 26 people.
