Schultz: The “formal” recognition of the independent state of Palestine will not go anywhere!

Germany's chancellor says the country currently has no plans to recognize Palestine as a state.

report Mehr News Agency quoted by Sputnik, German Prime Minister Olaf Schultz said that despite the recent action of several European countries in recognizing the independent state of Palestine, Berlin currently has no plans to take similar action.

Sultz claimed in a joint press conference with Portuguese Prime Minister Luis Montenegro: I think that there is now a reason to recognize the sovereignty of Palestine as an independent state. we don’t have There is no transparency about national territory or other aspects of it.

He added: It is necessary to reach an agreement between Israel and the Palestinians through negotiations, which will be equivalent to a two-state solution.

The German Prime Minister continued: We are talking about a Palestinian government that will take control of both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and there is a long way to reach this point. We have a lot. All we need to know is to achieve a lasting ceasefire. We must also force the involved parties to commit to a two-state solution.

He also claimed that the “formal recognition” of Palestine will not end anywhere!

The three countries Norway, Spain and Ireland officially recognized the independent state of Palestine last week. Eight countries, including Bulgaria, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Romania and Slovakia, recognized the independent state of Palestine in 1988 before joining the European Union. Sweden also took a similar action in 2014.
