According to the regional office of Tasinam news agency, the Afghan Red Crescent Society announced in a statement: It has received humanitarian aid of 70 tons from two Qatari charities, including food, blankets and sanitary items for the Herat earthquake victims.
Mashal Naseri, the representative of the Qatar Charity Foundation, also said: In addition to this 70-ton cargo, two other planes are going to transport humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
According to reports, several earthquakes From 15 to 23 October, more than 2 thousand people died in Herat province.
Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also announced about 48 thousand houses, 144 schools and 40 health centers in the province. Herat was destroyed or damaged by the earthquake. Ocha reported earlier this month that 37,000 families were forced to use temporary tents and open spaces, and another 8,800 people used temporary shelters.
Ocha requested 174 million dollars to help 275,000 people in the earthquake-stricken areas of western Afghanistan, but so far it has received only 37.5 million dollars.
