Reuters: China will not participate in the Ukraine peace conference hosted by Switzerland

Reuters claimed that Beijing will not attend the summit, pointing out that the conditions for its participation in the conference have not been met.

Mao Ning, the spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, had earlier responded to Kiev’s request for Chinese President Xi Jinping to attend the summit and said that “Beijing is not interested in holding an international conference.” In order to solve the Ukrainian crisis, he will support that both Moscow and Kyiv recognize it.”

Switzerland is going to host the heads of European countries in a two-day meeting (June 15 and 16-June 26 and 27) in the city of Lucerne. Moscow’s ambassador to Switzerland said in April that Russia was not invited to the summit, and even if it had been invited, it would not have participated.
