Shokri: We are against Tel Aviv’s military presence in the Palestinian section of the Rafah crossing
Egypt's foreign minister emphasized his country's opposition to the military presence of the Zionist regime in the Rafah crossing. |
According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News quoted by al-Quds al-Arabi, Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry emphasized in a joint press conference with his Cypriot counterpart: Cairo is opposed to Israel’s military presence in the Palestinian section of the Rafah crossing.
He further added: The Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing has become a field of military operations today. Closing this crossing prevents the entry of humanitarian aid.
Shokri stated: The Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing should be reactivated and the military conflicts in this area should end. Trucks carrying humanitarian aid deliberately face many obstacles to enter Gaza.
He criticized the non-implementation of the Security Council resolution on a ceasefire in Gaza five months after its issuance.
Shokri added: There is an international consensus on the need to stop the war against the Gaza Strip. The recognition of the Palestinian state has had an exponential process.
