Gold has become harder to find
According to mehr reporter to Quoting Rashatudi, CNBC news agency reported that the World Gold Council announced that it has become more difficult to find new gold reserves, and for this reason, maintaining the growth of the production of this precious metal in the world is a challenge.
While gold production in the world has grown by 2.7% in 2021, this figure has decreased to 1.35% in 2022 and has reached only 0.5% for last year.
John Redd, senior expert of the World Gold Council, says: Of course, gold mining in the first quarter of 2024 has grown by 4% compared to the same period last year; But in a more comprehensive picture, the growth of gold mining reached its peak in 2016 and 2018, and since then, there has been no significant increase.
He says: since many areas of the world where gold deposits were hoped for have been discovered, it has become more difficult to find new deposits.
Red also said that only 10% of the areas where gold deposits are found are economically viable for mining, and another point is that it takes 10 to 20 years for a gold mine to be ready for production.
