Amman: Our mediation led to the exchange of prisoners between Iran and Sweden
According to the international group Tasnim News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman made a statement about the mediation between Iran and Sweden issued about the exchange of prisoners.
In its statement, the ministry announced Oman’s mediation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Sweden regarding the exchange of prisoners and added that these efforts have led to an agreement between the two sides on the release of prisoners.
The text of the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman is as follows: In line with the implementation of His Excellency Sultan Haitham bin Tariq’s orders and in response to the request of the governments of Iran and Sweden to help solve the issue of nationals detained in the two countries, Oman’s efforts led to an agreement The two countries discussed the exchange. The statement added that, based on this agreement, prisoners from both sides were released in Tehran and Stockholm and were transferred to Muscat today, Saturday, June 15, so that preparations for their return to their countries can be made.
This statement states that the Sultanate of Oman appreciates the high and positive spirit governing the negotiations between the Iranian and Swedish parties in Muscat and their willingness to resolve this humanitarian case.
