The host of the Ukrainian summit: the peace process is not possible without Russia
report Mehr News quoted by Tass, Swiss President Viola Emherd, whose country is currently hosting the Ukraine peace summit, says that the peace process in Ukraine needs the presence and participation of Russia!
Emhard said: We all know very well that the peace process is not possible without Russia. Achieving a sustainable solution should be achieved with the participation of the parties.
He added: For this reason, we want to discuss how and why, as well as the conditions based on which Russia can be included in this process.
The Swiss president continued: We are taking the first vital step here. It depends on us whether the second step will be taken or not.
Switzerland is hosting the Ukraine Peace Summit today and tomorrow in the resort area of Burgenstock. Bern has invited more than 160 diplomatic delegations, including G7, G20 and BRICS countries, to this summit. However, the organizers announced on the eve of the summit that not all of these countries will send diplomatic delegations, and that 90 countries will attend, plus the autonomous region of Kosovo in Serbia, along with eight international organizations. According to the list, 55 countries have sent their respective heads of state or government, and the number of Western countries is far more than others in this respect, and as a result, there is not much hope for balanced negotiations and deliberations.
Russia is not among the guests. Most of the countries that are members of the United Nations have not sent a delegation. For example, China is not on the list of participants, and Brazil is merely an observer. The Republic of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Egypt, Iran, China, Cuba, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Syria, Ethiopia and many other countries are not willing to attend!
In this conference, three issues including humanitarian, nuclear and food security issues will be discussed. Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized yesterday that it is impossible to achieve a peaceful solution to the war in Ukraine without Russia’s participation and frank dialogue.
