Russia strongly condemned the coup in Bolivia

The Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the military coup in Bolivia and called for the unification of political and military forces in this country.

In a statement today, the Russian Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the military coup in Bolivia. The statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia states: We strongly condemn the attempted military coup in Bolivia that occurred on June 26.

According to the RT report, this statement adds: Moscow calls on all forces and constructive political structures in Bolivia to unite to strengthen the Bolivian society and ensure the stability and sovereignty of the government.

Bolivian soldiers used armored vehicles to attack the presidential palace in La Paz after attempting to storm the headquarters of President Luis Arce under the command of General Juan Jose Zuniga. 

Bolivian police arrested Juan Jose Zuniga after ousting Luis Arce and accusing him of carrying out a failed coup attempt. Jose Wilson Sanchez, the new commander of the army, after accepting his position, ordered the withdrawal of military forces to their base.

Local news sources in Bolivia reported that a military coup took place in the country on Wednesday, which is said to have been defeated by the president changing the army commander. dir=”ltr”>The President of Bolivia gave a speech to his supporters who had gathered outside the government palace after the failed coup and thanked them for their support and said: Long live democracy.
