This claim has been made while the Supreme Court of Bangladesh is going to issue its final verdict today regarding the removal of government job quota. At least 133 people have been killed in violent protests in Bangladesh.

According to the Indiatoday report, among the recent developments in Bangladesh in the midst of protests, we can mention the patrolling of security forces throughout the city in order to suppress the protesters.

Ubidul Qadir, the secretary general of the ruling party “Awami Union” of Bangladesh told AFP that the country’s police are allowed to shoot curfew violators.

Student protests in this country started from universities and have spread to the streets of Bangladesh. According to the government job quota law, more than half of these jobs are assigned to special groups, including the children of veterans of the country’s independence war in 1971.

Following the escalation of violence in Bangladesh, the US State Department warned the citizens of this country about traveling to Dhaka and asked them to refrain from traveling to this country for the time being. Washington is also expelling diplomats and their family members from Bangladesh due to unrest and chaos in the country.
