Libya is trying to join “BRICS”
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Reuters, “Abd al-Hadi al-Hawij, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the government based in eastern Libya, expressed the desire of his respective government to join the BRICS group.
This government official based in eastern Libya said in an interview on Monday: The government of national stability based in eastern Libya is seriously considering the issues of joining BRICS.
Al Hawij added: BRICS is an important economic block. I am among those who support Libya joining BRICS. We are considering this step as part of our strategy to strengthen economic relations with developing countries and realize sustainable economic development.
This Libyan government official said that the country should seriously work on this issue.
The BRICS group was established in 2009 as a cooperation platform of the largest developing economies with the participation of Brazil, Russia, India and China. South Africa also joined this group in 2010.
