German frigate shot down a drone off the coast of Lebanon

According to Mehr News Agency, The German news agency reported on Thursday that the German frigate “Ludwigshafen am Rhein” located off the coast of Lebanon intercepted a drone.

According to the announcement of Deutsche Welle, the spokesman of the German Army Operations Command announced in this regard that this unmanned drone was shot down using a defense system in a controlled manner near the coast of Lebanon.

Berlin claims that it has a military presence on the coast of Lebanon as part of the UN UNIFIL forces.

Since 2006, UNIFIL forces have been in charge of monitoring the ceasefire in the border area between Lebanon and the occupied territories.
