The UAE condemned the Knesset’s decision against UNRWA
According to Mehr News Agency, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, in a statement published on the website of this institution, condemned the decision of the Zionist Parliament (Knesset) against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA), on the vital role of this institution in delivering humanitarian aid to the people. Palestine emphasized especially in the midst of the ongoing war in Gaza.
The ministry also emphasized that these laws contradict the United Nations Charter and international norms and warned that these decisions will exacerbate the dire humanitarian conditions that the Palestinians are currently facing.
The United Arab Emirates emphasizes the need for UNRWA and other UN agencies to carry out their humanitarian missions safely, promptly and sustainably.
The ministry also emphasized the importance of supporting regional and international efforts aimed at advancing the peace process in the Middle East and “called for an end to illegal procedures that lead to the weakening of the two-state solution and the creation of an independent Palestinian state.”
The Zionist Knesset voted to approve a law banning UNRWA’s activities in the occupied territories, and Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of this regime, claimed that UNRWA employees should be held accountable for what he called “terrorist activities” against this regime. .
