Pentagon: Russia has not used nuclear weapons on the territory of Ukraine
reported by Mehr News Agency Citing Sputnik, Sabrina Singh, the Pentagon’s deputy press secretary, says that there is currently no indication that Russia has decided to use nuclear weapons against the territory of Ukraine.
Singh told reporters: We have no indication that Russia is preparing to use nuclear weapons inside Ukraine. Also, we do not see any need to make changes in our nuclear position.
Russian President Vladimir Putin approved and signed the new version of the country’s nuclear doctrine yesterday. Today, Moscow also published a presidential decree explaining the fundamental principles of Russia’s policy on nuclear deterrence. According to this document, an attack on Russia, including an attack using cruise missiles and drones, can lead to Moscow’s nuclear response.
The order was signed after reports of Washington giving Kiev the green light to use long-range US missiles deep inside Russian territory. Yesterday, a report was also published about Ukraine’s first use of these missiles against Russia.
