Islamabad was quarantined on the eve of the demonstration of Imran Khan’s supporters
reported by Mehr News Agency quoted by Anatoly, on the eve of the anti-government demonstration of the supporters of Imran Khan, the former Prime Minister of Pakistan who is in prison, the government of this country cut off the internet services and blocked the main roads leading to Islamabad.
The police have blocked the entry and exit points of Islamabad, Lahore, Rawalpindi and other cities, especially the borders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the northwest of Pakistan with containers. This province is under the control of Imran Khan’s party, “Tehrik Insaf”.
The Tehreek-e-Insaf Party has demanded a protest sit-in near the Pakistan Parliament until the release of Imran Khan. The images published in the media show giant containers in various parts of the roads of Islamabad, while more than 500 Tehreek-e-Insaf activists have been arrested across the country.
The government has warned that it will deal with the protesters “decisively” by sending thousands of police. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsen Naqvi told reporters that preparations have been finalized to quell the illegal opposition demonstrations.
