Trump announced that he has chosen American businessman John Phelan as the Secretary of the Navy in his second term!
John will be a tremendous support to our Navy personnel and a steadfast leader in advancing the vision of an “America First” approach, Trump said in a statement. He will prioritize the commercial affairs of the US Navy.
Phelan, who is the founder and chairman of Florida-based private equity firm Rugger Management, didn’t even serve in the US military. He was one of the biggest supporters of Trump’s election campaign.
He will succeed Carlos Del Toro, who has served as US Navy Secretary since 2021. The annual budget of the US Navy is more than 255 billion dollars and it has more than one million personnel.
