Zakharova: Russia considers the solution of territorial issues with Japan to be only formalization of the existing borders

reported Mehr News Agency According to Rianost News Agency, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry, commented on the settlement of territorial issues between her country and Japan this Saturday.

The spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry said in this regard: “Moscow sees the solution of territorial issues with Japan only as the formalization of the existing borders and intends to hold consultations in this regard.”

Maria Zakharova said: Moscow believes that the settlement of territorial issues with Japan only means the recognition of the international legal principles of the borders with Russia.

He went on to add that Moscow’s principled position regarding consultations with Tokyo is the same.
