Iraqi Interior Minister’s visit to Türkiye

The Iraqi Interior Minister went to Türkiye on an official visit and is going to discuss security cases.

According to Webangah News quoted by Mehr News Agency, citing the Iraqi Waa news agency, the Iraqi Embassy in Turkey announced that the Iraqi Interior Minister Abdul Amir al-Shammari went to Ankara on an official visit today. Al-Shammari arrived in Ankara at the head of a high-ranking delegation and at the official invitation of Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerli Kaya.

The interior ministers of Iraq and Turkey are supposed to consult on a number of cases of common importance.

Al-Shammari and Kaya will examine the frameworks of joint cooperation in many important cases, especially the fight against crimes, the exchange of information and experience, and the security of common borders.

In Ankara, the Iraqi Interior Minister will consult with Turkish Defense Minister Yashar Güler about strengthening security cooperation and realizing common interests between the two countries and a friendly nation.
