Taiwan officials have reported a fire at a nuclear power plant in the south of the country, saying the fire had not raised any safety concerns.

Taiwan State Electricity Company (Taiwan Power) announced that the fire occurred on Thursday at the Maanshan Maanshan nuclear power plant in southern Taiwan and was restrained by firefighters and created no safety concerns.
The company said in a statement that the fire in the south of Ping Tong was about 2 meters away from nuclear power equipment and had no effect on electricity production.
