US President Donald Trump said last month that he plans to take a tariff exemption for Australia; A country that has been an American business partner for decades.
The former Australian government agreed with the US government over tariff exemption in 2008 during the first term of Trump’s presidency. Australia’s argument at that time was hiring thousands of people in the US at the Australian Blue Scope Steel Factory.

The US has officially increased tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports to 5 %.
Australia’s non-exemption decision was announced a few days after former Australian Prime Minister Trump and Malcolm Turnball. Tranbul had finalized Australia’s exemption in year 6.
Trump described the former Australian Prime Minister as “weak and impatient” leadership. Trump’s insult was in response to last week’s interview with Bloomberg, who said Chinese President Xi Jinping would benefit from US government turmoil.
