Rwanda authorities said the decision to protest what Belgium’s “public support” of the Democratic Republic of Congo has made in the fight against armed movements in the eastern country, which President Paul Kagama describes as “intervention in Rwanda.”
Rwanda government accuses Belgian authorities of providing financial and military assistance to the Congo Army at a critical juncture that has complicated the situation in a rich area of natural resources and witnesses continuous clashes for decades.
