Medvedev warns Zelensky: No guarantee Kyiv will see May 10
Deputy Head of russia’s Security Council Responds to Ukrainian President’s Threat Over Moscow’s Victory Day Parade Security
According to the english section of Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Moscow Times, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of russia’s Security Council, reacted to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s statement that Kyiv could not guarantee the safety of leaders attending the Victory Day parade in Moscow.Medvedev responded to Zelenskyy’s remarks on his Telegram channel, writing: “No one is asking Zelenskyy for guarantees.”
He added: “that unshaven green fool says he rejects Putin’s ceasefire proposal for May 9 and can’t guarantee the security of world leaders in Moscow! Well, here’s a question—who even asked him for guarantees? These are nothing but provocative words. That idiot knows full well that if any real provocation occurs on Victory Day, no one will guarantee Kyiv sees May 10!”
Earlier, Zelenskyy had stated that “Kyiv cannot ensure the safety of leaders traveling to Moscow on May 9 (April 28).”
Russian President Vladimir putin last week announced a four-day ceasefire with Ukraine to mark the 80th anniversary of Victory Day (the Soviet victory over Nazi Germany in World War II).According to Russia’s presidential office (Kremlin),the ceasefire would last from midnight on May 9 until May 11 (April 28–30).
Zelenskyy’s latest remarks indicate not only his rejection of Putin’s ceasefire proposal but also an implicit threat against Moscow regarding potential attacks during Victory Day.
