Reuters: Al-Jolani’s proposal to Trump to build a tower in Damascus
Informed Sources Report Al-Julani regime’s Attempt to Reduce U.S. Sanctions
According to the English section of the Webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News agency and Reuters, informed sources reveal that Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of Syrian terrorists, is attempting to secure a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump during his Middle East trip by offering proposals such as constructing a Trump Tower in Damascus, de-escalating tensions with Israel, and granting the U.S. access to Syria’s oil and gas resources.
Jonathan Bass, an American pro-Trump activist who met with al-Julani for four hours in Damascus on April 30, alongside several Syrian and Gulf Arab activists, is working to arrange a historic—though unlikely—meeting between the two leaders on the sidelines of Trump’s visits to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE.
Syria has faced notable challenges in meeting U.S. conditions for sanctions relief, which have isolated the country from the global financial system and hindered economic reconstruction after 14 years of devastating war.
Bass hopes that facilitating a meeting between Trump and al-Shar (who remains designated as a terrorist by the U.S. due to his past ties to Al-Qaeda) could moderate Trump’s administration’s stance toward Damascus and reduce escalating tensions between Syria and Israel.
Part of this effort stems from Trump’s history of breaking traditional U.S. foreign policy taboos—such as his historic 2019 meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in the korean Demilitarized Zone.
Bass stated: “Al-Julani is seeking an economic deal for his country’s future—one that could include energy exploitation, cooperation against Iran, and engagement with Israel.”
