Poland closed Russian consulate
Warsaw Revokes Operating Licence for Russian Consulate in Krakow, Southern Poland
According to a report by the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Anadolu, Poland has revoked the operating license of Moscow’s consulate in Krakow, citing evidence linking Russia’s intelligence service to a recent arson attack in Warsaw.
Radosław Sikorski, Poland’s foreign minister, stated on the social media platform X: “In light of evidence confirming that Russian special services orchestrated the disgraceful sabotage at the ‘Marylshka’ shopping center, I have decided to revoke the operating license of the Russian Federation’s consulate in Krakow.”
The move follows claims by Polish authorities that the May 11 fire—which destroyed a major Warsaw shopping mall—was part of a sabotage operation coordinated and planned by Russian intelligence agents.
