Nigerian soldiers drenched in blood and soil in terrorist attack
According to the english section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Reuters, suspected terrorists launched coordinated attacks on two military bases in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State, killing at least five Nigerian soldiers.The assaults occurred less than 24 hours after another deadly attack on army forces in the same region.
Security sources and a local official stated that the attacks took place early Tuesday morning, marking part of a renewed wave of violence intensified this year by the terrorist group Boko Haram.Borno State is known as the epicenter of terrorist activities.
Local sources reported that prior to the assault, attackers flew two reconnaissance drones in the area before targeting a brigade base around 1:00 AM on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, in Rann town within Kala Balge district—approximately 65 kilometers from Dikwa—militants armed with heavy machine-gun vehicles attacked Nigeria’s Army Third Battalion base. two security sources and a local official confirmed this incident.
The Nigerian Defense Headquarters, responsible for coordinating counterterrorism operations, has yet to respond to these events.
A soldier involved in clashes told Reuters: “This time we responded effectively. The Nigerian Air Force provided aerial support, and we killed many terrorists.”
The attacks underscore worsening security conditions in northeastern Nigeria, where despite military efforts against insurgents, these groups remain a severe threat to regional stability and civilian/military lives.
