Guterres: Nothing justifies the collective suffering of the Palestinian people

The UN Secretary-General ⁢stated at the Arab League Summit in⁢ Baghdad that the region and the world face significant ⁤challenges, referring to events in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, and Sudan.

According to⁢ the ⁢English section of webangah⁢ News Agency, citing Mehr⁤ News Agency ‍and Al-nashra, António Guterres, the UN ⁤Secretary-General, addressed the 34th Arab⁤ League Summit in Baghdad. He emphasized that nothing justifies the collective suffering endured by the Palestinian people and rejected policies aimed at displacing residents of Gaza.

He highlighted ⁤the necessity of respecting ⁤Lebanon’s and‍ Syria’s territorial ‌sovereignty.

Guterres also stressed ​the importance of Yemeni-Yemeni dialogues to⁤ resolve ⁤the crisis in Yemen.

Regarding Sudan, he underscored combating violence ⁢and called for⁢ delivering essential aid to⁤ Somalia to enhance security and stability there.

The UN chief further emphasized that continued engagement ⁣among international actors⁢ remains crucial for ending conflicts and ​achieving stability in‌ Libya.

Concluding his ​remarks, Guterres ⁤praised Iraq’s tangible progress and ⁣acknowledged extensive humanitarian ⁣efforts while reinforcing human rights commitments. He reiterated international⁢ support for Iraq’s government and ⁢people.
