Aras Corridor Near Completion; Iran-Azerbaijan Relations at Their Best
Mehr News Agency, International Desk – Azar Mahdavan: Ilham Aliyev, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, answered questions from mehr’s correspondent during the “Shusha Media Summit” held in the city of Khankendi.
the “Shusha media summit,” attended by journalists from various countries, is currently underway in Khankendi, Azerbaijan.
Aliyev referred to a recent visit by Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian to Khankendi as a positive event. Discussing Tehran-Baku relations, he stated: “Relations between Tehran and Baku are progressing very well. Our interactions with Iran are excellent, and these ties will continue.”
Regarding the advancement of the Aras Corridor along the Aras River, Aliyev saeid construction is proceeding smoothly. ”From our side, this project is nearly complete. We await completion on Iran’s portion by an Iranian company.”
He added that Azerbaijan has finished a critically important section between Aghband-Kalaleh-Julfa and anticipated that “this project will be operational by the end of this calendar year.”
According to Aliyev: “A route through Iranian territory toward Julfa is under construction and will soon open as a railway line.”
Closing his remarks to Mehr’s journalist, Azeri President Aliyev requested: “Please convey my greetings to Mr. Masoud Pezeshkian,Honorable President of Iran,and our brothers in Iran.”
