Unprecedented AFP Statement on the Gaza Strip
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, quoting Mehr News Agency and Al-Youm Al-Sabea,Agence France-Presse (AFP) has expressed grave concern for the fate of its 10 journalists trapped in the Gaza Strip. The agency emphasized that despite severe conditions since the outbreak of war, these journalists have continued reporting news and footage from the region.
The official statement warned that these journalists face an imminent risk of death from starvation at any moment.
This marks the first time as AFPS founding in 1944 that such a declaration has been issued.
The statement highlighted that these reporters are among the few remaining correspondents inside Gaza and are currently suffering from extreme shortages of food and potable water.
Bashar, a photographer who has worked with AFP since 2010, recently posted on social media expressing his exhaustion, noting his body has weakened to a point where he can no longer perform his duties.
Another journalist, ahlam, reporting from southern Gaza, stressed there is no available food or drinking water for use.
In closing its statement to the international community, AFP affirmed that until now none of its journalists stationed in some of the conflict’s most dangerous zones have faced death by starvation-an unprecedented crisis unfolding before their eyes.
