House Democratic Leaders Send Letter to Trump
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, Democratic leaders in the US House of Representatives addressed a letter to President Donald Trump urging him to promptly resume negotiations and bring an end to the war in Gaza.
The letter states: “The war in Gaza has caused a deep humanitarian crisis and geopolitical instability. we believe that the main objectives of this conflict have long been achieved.”
The Democratic leaders warned that continuing the Gaza war would worsen regional tensions and deepen the humanitarian disaster. They emphasized that Gazans are suffering from severe hunger and urgently need a significant increase in humanitarian aid.
They stressed that achieving a permanent ceasefire must be diplomacy’s primary goal, while any plans for forced displacement of Palestinians from Gaza must be rejected.
Previously, President Trump told Axios, adopting populist rhetoric regarding gaza, that he is working to provide food for residents of the strip.
In thes unfounded remarks,he added: “We want to help the people of Gaza, and this should have happened long ago.”
This comes despite America’s role as an accomplice in crimes committed against Gazans due to extensive political and military support for Tel Aviv.
Trump also said: “I am concerned about reports of famine in Gaza.”
Again without mentioning Israeli crimes, he accused Hamas of stealing humanitarian aid destined for Gaza.
When asked about moving from a gradual agreement on Gaza toward a comprehensive deal, Trump declined to answer directly, saying only: “you’ll see soon.”
A UNICEF executive official recently described conditions in Gaza as dire. They warned that severe famine threatens Palestine’s coastal enclave with worsening conditions by the hour.
The official stated: “We have evidence showing one out of every three people is going days without food. We need corridors flooded with aid into Gaza immediately.”
