Moses’ Staff in Gaza: A Major Nightmare Awaits the Occupiers
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Jazeera via Mehr News Agency, in response to the Zionist regime’s criminal plan for a large-scale invasion and occupation of Gaza city under “Gideon’s Chariots 2,” Al-Qassam Brigades, Hamas’ military wing, recently announced the launch of Operation “Moses’ Staff.”
Launch of Operation Moses’ Staff as a Response to Occupiers’ Gideon’s Chariots
A few days ago, a Palestinian resistance source told Al Jazeera that they had initiated Operation Moses’ Staff in retaliation to Israel’s Gideon’s Chariots 2 offensive in Gaza. The enemy witnessed firsthand the readiness of Palestinian fighters in Shuja’iyya and Jabalia neighborhoods hours after announcing their operation.
The source from Al-Qassam command emphasized that what Israeli forces saw from resistance fighters in Shuja’iyya and Jabalia was just a small fraction of what awaits them across Gaza.
The Significance behind Naming the Resistance Operation “moses’ Staff”
The Arabic names chosen by Palestinian resistance groups for their operations carry strong religious symbolism reflecting their determination against oppression-just as Prophet David stood against Goliath with his slingstone, and Prophet Moses confronted Pharaoh’s tyranny with his staff.
By selecting “Moses’ Staff” for this operation, the resistance explicitly declares it will not surrender to oppressors but will fight valiantly anchored by palestine’s enduring spirit.
On the ground, “moses’ Staff” signals what awaits Israel inside gaza City. Jordanian military expert Major General Fayez al-Dweiri noted that Israel is expected to face intense urban combat. Unlike other occupied areas, Gaza has far more tunnels beneath its surface.
He added that alongside these extensive tunnels, numerous densely packed houses and narrow streets hinder movement of Israeli army vehicles. This forces occupying troops into street fighting where they will suffer much greater losses than anticipated.
This Arabic-speaking analyst pointed out that over recent months resistance tactics have shifted drastically-from direct confrontations toward ambushes using minimal forces-highlighted by deadly ambushes recently carried out in Shuja’iyya, Jabalia, and Khan Yunis neighborhoods. These mark a new phase for resistance operations inside Gaza.
Political analyst Adel Shadid also told Al Jazeera that timing matters: announcing Operation Moses’ Staff intensifies opposition among Israelis about occupying Gaza City while spreading fear within Zionist circles about increased risks faced by soldiers and prisoners held by Israel.
He stressed: while Israel seeks through massive media campaigns surrounding Gideon’s Chariots 2 to intimidate Palestinians and their resistance groups, they must understand if ceasefire talks unfold amid ongoing fire exchanges then both sides will suffer-not just Palestinians alone will bear casualties.
This expert highlighted that Israelis no longer doubt past promises made by Hamas as these are backed up with results on the ground-and as Jerusalem cares deeply about its troops and captives more than Palestinians living under occupation-it is indeed likely opposition within Israeli ranks against Gideon’s Chariots 2 may grow stronger going forward.
