Spain Imposes Extensive Sanctions on the Zionist Regime
According too the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Turkey Today newspaper, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez unveiled a nine-point sanctions package against Israel over its ongoing genocide in Gaza.
Speaking at the Moncloa Palace, Sánchez stated, “What Israel is doing in Gaza is not self-defence but the destruction of unarmed civilians.”
He emphasized that while spain lacks nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, or vast oil reserves, this does not mean the country will cease efforts to stop Israeli crimes.
Citing United Nations statistics, Sánchez added that Israeli operations in Gaza and the West Bank over the past two years have resulted in more than 63,000 deaths, 15,900 injuries, nearly two million displaced people, and 250,000 individuals facing hunger.
The first measure announced is a formal arms embargo through a royal decree prohibiting any trade of weapons, ammunition, or military equipment with the occupying Israeli forces.
Sánchez also announced bans on fuel shipments for Israeli occupiers from Spanish ports and restrictions on military cargo flights through Spanish airspace.
Furthermore, individuals accused of involvement in genocide, war crimes or human rights violations in Gaza will be denied entry into Spain. This measure is expected to apply specifically to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and all members of his cabinet.
The sanctions package also includes banning imports from Israeli settlements in occupied Palestinian territories; limiting consular services for Spaniards residing in such settlements; enhancing cooperation with the Palestinian government; and increasing Spain’s role in humanitarian projects within frameworks like the European Union.
Sánchez stated these measures are expected to be approved by today’s cabinet meeting and implemented immediately.
