Trump: Attack on Qatar Was Netanyahu’s Decision, Not Mine
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Al Mayadeen via Mehr News Agency, US President Donald Trump stated that the attack on Qatar was a decision made by Benjamin Netanyahu, not himself.
He added that attacking Qatar does not serve the interests of Israel or the United States.
Trump said he instructed Secretary of State Marco Rubio to end the defense cooperation agreement with Qatar.
The US president explained that he had spoken with both the Emir adn Prime Minister of Qatar and assured them such an incident would never happen again on their soil.
Trump claimed that today, the US military informed him Israel was launching an attack on Hamas in Qatar’s capital.
He further said Netanyahu told him after the attack that he seeks peace and hopes this unfortunate event could become an prospect for peace.
Trump mentioned ordering witkoff to notify Qatari officials about Israel’s planned strike; though,it was too late.
He concluded by expressing his desire for all Israeli captives’ release and called for an immediate end to the war.
