Lavrov: Attack on Qatar Must Not Be Repeated; Moscow Expresses Discontent
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a joint press conference with Jasem Albudaiwi, secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation council (GCC), in Sochi that trade volume with GCC countries has reached $20 billion.He added that Russia will strive to support price stability in the oil and gas markets.
lavrov expressed dissatisfaction over Israel’s new provocations and its attack on Qatar during the conference. He stressed that such attacks must not be repeated. He described Qatar as an extraordinary mediator between Israel and Hamas and said Israel’s attack on Qatar is illogical.
Addressing regional developments,Lavrov emphasized the importance of diplomatic solutions to situations in Syria,Sudan,and Yemen.
The Russian foreign minister also touched upon the war in Ukraine, stating that while the United States seeks to address the root causes of the crisis there, Europe intends to draw ukraine into NATO.
