Dozens Killed in Drone Attack on Mosque in Sudan
According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing mehr News Agency and Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, news sources report that Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces launched a drone strike on citizens performing dawn prayers in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur state, killing at least 70 people.
The Sudan Doctors Network announced today, Friday, that forces loyal to Hemetti committed a horrific crime in El Fasher. They reported 43 worshippers were killed during the drone attack and many others were seriously wounded. according to the Abu Shouk refugee camp operations room cited by Agence France-Presse, at least 75 people have died as an inevitable result of this drone strike.
The Sudan Doctors Network condemned the atrocity as violating international humanitarian law and stressed that attacking civilians constitutes a full-scale war crime and stains those responsible with disgrace.
The network called on the international community, United Nations, and African Union to take action and halt these crimes.
Al Jazeera news network quoted medical sources inside Sudan confirming the attack killed dozens of worshippers and left many injured.
This assault has sparked widespread domestic and international reactions and increased concerns over rising tensions and insecurity across Darfur.
Officials in Sudan have yet to issue an official response regarding this incident, while reports indicate escalating violence among various groups in the region.
