according to the English section of webangah news Agency, citing Mehr news Agency and Anadolu, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Secretary of Russia’s Security Council, targeted french President Emmanuel Macron with sarcasm following the resignation of France’s prime minister less than a month into his term and the continuing political turmoil in the country.
Sebastien Lecornu, France’s new prime minister for less than a month, resigned yesterday. The Élysée Palace confirmed that Macron accepted his resignation.
Reacting to Lecornu’s departure on his Telegram channel and recalling that Lecornu’s government lasted only 14 hours in total, Medvedev wrote: “France has no president. Kyiv has a brilliant supporter.”
He added: “Macron cares little about France. His policies have primarily focused on supporting Kyiv and his foreign partners rather than serving French citizens’ interests.”
The 39-year-old Lecornu was Macron’s seventh appointed prime minister and the fifth within two years. Macron appointed him on September 9; now Lecornu holds the record for the shortest tenure as prime minister in France as 1958.
