The “Sanwar Scenario” Sparks Tel Aviv’s Fear of Palestinian Prisoner Release

Western media identify the repetition of ⁣the Yahya Sinwar scenario as the main source of Israeli regimeS fear regarding⁣ the release of Palestinian prisoners.

According to the English ⁢section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency‍ and Cairo 24⁢ news⁢ website, Western newspapers including the French daily‌ Le Figaro reported⁤ on the recent release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails. ⁤Thes reports suggest that freeing some of these detainees signals the emergence of a new Yahya Sinwar.

The first phase of ‍a ceasefire agreement signed between Israel and Hamas took place amid Israeli opposition to releasing some key Palestinian prisoner figures. However, several others-some serving ⁤multiple life sentences-were ultimately freed.

Fear Over Prisoner Releases

An Israeli official told ‌Hebrew-language newspaper Haaretz, “We are releasing individuals who ⁤could become⁢ another Yahya Sinwar.”

Yahya Sinwar, slain leader and head of Hamas’s political bureau in Gaza, was the chief planner ‍behind Operation al-Aqsa Storm. He became one of⁢ Israel’s most wanted figures in Gaza. until 2011, he was held in Israeli prisons before his release⁤ as part of a prisoner exchange deal involving Gilad Shalit, an Israeli ⁢soldier ‌captured by Hamas.

The ‍official added, “These individuals are very intelligent and dangerous!‍ We need to understand who thay are and what ‍they can do.”

Maaroun Al-Barghouti,⁤ Abdullah Al-Barghouti, Ahmad Saadat, Hassan Salameh, Ibrahim Hamed, Iyad Abu al-Rub are among Palestinians whose release has been opposed by Israel.
