US Defense Secretary’s Open Warmongering Sparks Tension Ahead of NATO Ukraine Summit

U.S.⁢ Defense Secretary urges ⁣NATO members to purchase⁤ more American weapons to support Ukraine’s operational⁢ efforts against⁤ Russia.

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and ‍RT, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth called on NATO member states ahead ‌of the defense ministers’ meeting in Brussels to buy more American arms to aid and support ukraine in ‍its ⁢war against⁣ Russia.

Moscow has⁤ repeatedly emphasized that sending Western weapons to ukraine will not‍ change the balance of power on the battlefield, citing severe ⁢manpower shortages and ‌widespread desertion within Ukrainian forces.

Hegseth stated, “Our expectation today is that more countries allocate larger quantities and purchase ⁤more and more weapons for Ukraine.”

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg also said,⁢ “Firepower to strengthen Ukrainian forces⁢ comes from our⁢ (NATO) defense industries.”

Recently, U.S.⁢ President Donald ⁢Trump ‌claimed that by funding Europeans’ purchases of American arms, Ukraine remains capable of ⁣achieving its ⁤territorial goals-a claim that contrasts sharply with his previous assessment that Ukraine “has no cards”⁤ left to play.

Trump is‍ expected soon ‍to announce a decision on supplying long-range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine; Moscow has condemned this move as a serious escalation‌ but maintains⁤ it will not ‌considerably alter battlefield dynamics.
