Moscow Accuses UK and Ukraine of Plotting Sabotage on TurkStream Pipeline

The⁢ Russian Federal Security Service claims to have intelligence ‍on British and Ukrainian intelligence cooperation in sabotage plans‌ targeting the TurkStream pipeline.

The ⁢English section of webangah‌ News ​Agency ‌ reported, citing Mehr News Agency and TASS, that Alexander Bortnikov, director⁣ of Russia’s ⁤Federal Security Service (FSB), stated the⁣ agency possesses facts ‍indicating that UK and Ukrainian⁢ intelligence services are preparing sabotage operations ⁤against the TurkStream‍ pipeline.

Bortnikov ⁣made these remarks during a meeting with the Council of Heads‍ of Security Agencies and Special Services ⁤from member states of the Commonwealth of independant States (CIS). The TurkStream​ pipeline consists of two lines each transporting 31.5 billion cubic meters from⁤ the​ Black Sea to Turkey, supplying Turkey and Southern Europe.

He added ⁢there is credible intelligence showing terrorist and ‌sabotage activities within Russia ‍receive support from British ​intelligence. Reports indicate that units from Britain’s⁤ Special Air Service (SAS) are directly involved‌ in military operations against russia.

The Russian⁢ security ‍official also accused british intelligence of directing “Operation Spiderweb,” carried out by Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU)⁤ just before Ukraine-Russia negotiations in Istanbul on June⁢ 2.

In June, Russia’s Ministry ⁢of ‍Defense reported that ⁣Ukraine launched drone attacks⁢ against airbases located in Murmansk, irkutsk, ⁤Ivanovo, Ryazan, and‍ Amur regions.
