Samir Abu Numa: The oldest ⁤Jerusalem Prisoner

When Samir Abu numa was arrested in 1986, he was‍ a 26-year-old hotel management graduate.He​ had joined⁤ the‍ Fatah movement and became part of its ⁢military core that planned and executed bombings on Israeli buses ⁤in Jaffa as part of coordinated operations targeting Israeli⁣ soldiers.

Following intense interrogations and harsh⁣ torture at Al-Maskobiya prison in Jerusalem, he received a life sentence. Throughout his imprisonment under occupation authorities,Samir was transferred between various prisons.He participated ⁢in multiple hunger strikes and ⁢played an active role in managing prisoner movement ⁣activities.

Abu Numa suffered from several illnesses during captivity‌ and underwent six surgeries behind bars. In 1993 his name ⁢appeared on a prisoner exchange list between the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Israel; however, Israeli authorities refused his‍ release.

“Samir” lost his mother and three brothers during ⁢his detention without ​ever being allowed​ to see or bid farewell to them. His brother ​Walid died in 2016 on the night he was ‍preparing for their meeting; meanwhile their ⁤mother waited untill her⁣ passing for her son’s freedom. Ultimately after⁤ 39 years of captivity, Samir⁢ experienced freedom once again.

Mahmoud Eissa: Commander of the Special Unit

Mahmoud Musa⁣ Eissa is recognized as a unique intellectual fighter ‍with some of the most⁣ prominent ideological and organizational experience within the prisoner movement. Born on May 21, 1968 in Anata near Jerusalem, he was among the first youths to join Hamas’s military wing immediately after its formation – notably⁤ establishing “Special​ Unit 101,” tasked with capturing ‌Israeli soldiers for prisoner exchanges.

On‌ December 13, 1992 this unit ⁢captured soldier Nassim Toldano near Lod settlement using an operation named “Loyalty to Sheikh Ahmed Yassin,” founder and leader of‍ Hamas who was imprisoned at that time⁣ by Israel. Although this effort failed when Toldano’s body was found dead instead⁤ of exchanged alive-it caused significant alarm within Israeli circles.

After four months intensive interrogation involving ⁢systematic torture followed court trials convicting him largely based upon ⁤accusations outlining membership‍ within Izz ​ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades (Hamas’ military wing) plus participation aiding suicide attacks – condemning him twelve consecutive lifetime sentences.

Baher did not face fate alone ; brother buheij also became detainee simultaneously handed ⁤eighteen seperate life terms . Their aged mother wasn’t spared also she got arrested weeks later despite ⁤chronic illness kept confined isolated cells .

Mohammad_Abu_Tabikh:_A_Fighter_in_Jihadist_and_Academic_Fields

Abu_tabikh_was_first_arrested_in_1999_after_his_freshman_year_at_university_but_released_quickly_and_returned_to_resistance_efforts,_principally_joining_the_Quds_Brigades_of_the_Islamic_Jihad_movement._Israeli_forces_detained_him_again_on_July_28,_2002_for_his_role_in_preparing_improvised_explosive_devices_and_supporting_combat_during_the_Jenin_camp_operations._He_was_sentenced_to_two_life_terms_plus_fifteen_years._
