Drone Flights Temporarily Shut Down Berlin Airport

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, the German Press Agency (DPA) announced that flights at Berlin Airport were temporarily suspended after several unidentified drones were detected.
The temporary closure occurred after multiple unknown drones were seen hovering over the airport. This incident, reported by news sources, marks the latest in a series of drone-related disruptions at European airports.
The official website of Brandenburg Airport in Berlin stated that starting around 9 p.m. local time, several incoming flights destined for Berlin were redirected to other German airports.
Flights resumed approximately one hour and twenty minutes later. The airport management announced operations would continue until 1 a.m.to allow diverted planes to return to Berlin.
This event follows similar disturbances earlier this month at Munich Airport, which was forced to suspend flights temporarily for the second time within one week due to drone sightings, resulting in cancellations and rerouting.
In recent weeks, intrusions by unidentified drones into airspace near airports including Copenhagen and Oslo have led to temporary closures and widespread disruptions across European air traffic.
European authorities have warned about advanced drone network activities and their significant security implications. They have also initiated efforts to develop a “drone shield” system aimed at countering these threats.
