New Clashes on Afghanistan-Pakistan Border Leave Several Dead

Reports indicate additional fatalities in teh ⁢latest border clashes ⁢between ​Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The English section of‍ webangah News⁢ Agency, ⁢citing⁣ mehr News Agency, reported that Al Mayadeen’s correspondent in Kabul confirmed new fighting along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

Al Mayadeen stated ⁣that several⁢ people have been killed ‍during this ⁢recent round of violence but did​ not provide⁣ specific casualty figures.

Local sources from Spin ⁢Boldak district in‍ Kandahar province, southern Afghanistan, told the BBC ‍that Pakistani‌ border forces fired mortars into Afghan territory on ​Thursday, November 6, at around 5 p.m. local time.

According to these sources, Pakistani forces initially used light weapons before launching at least ​five mortar rounds toward ⁤Taliban border troops.

Hospital⁢ officials in Spin⁤ Boldak reported one man ⁤and one woman were killed by the shelling while two others sustained injuries.

The sources also ‍noted that ten​ more people were wounded in ​traffic⁤ accidents while fleeing the area.

The Pakistani firing came ‍after Taliban forces began constructing a border post.Sources said Pakistani soldiers first issued verbal warnings to Taliban⁢ fighters ‍before opening fire.

meanwhile,Pakistan’s Ministry of ⁤Details and Broadcasting issued a statement on X denying the Afghan ‍side’s allegations regarding ‌the incident near Chaman on the Pakistan-Afghanistan‍ border. They ‌claimed ⁤that shooting was initiated from Afghanistan and their security forces responded promptly and responsibly. The ministry emphasized that due to Pakistan’s responsible actions,⁣ stability has been restored and a ceasefire remains intact. ​Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment​ to ongoing dialog and expects ​reciprocal action ‍from⁢ Afghan authorities.

Pakistan ‌accuses Afghanistan’s Taliban government of harboring Pakistani militants known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Though, the Taliban ‌administration has repeatedly rejected these claims, characterizing security issues⁢ in Pakistan⁣ as internal matters specific to that country.
