Trump: The War in Ukraine Will End

According to the English section of webangah News agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, U.S. President Donald Trump stated at a press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán that they agree the war in Ukraine will come to an end.
He added that he and Orbán would discuss the situation in Ukraine and energy supply issues. “We are considering exempting Hungary from Russian oil sanctions,” trump said.
The U.S. president also mentioned plans to talk with Orbán about a possible meeting with Vladimir Putin, explaining that ongoing conflict has so far prevented such a summit.
Trump said, “I inherited the Ukraine war from former U.S. President Joe BidenS governance, but I am determined to end it,just as I ended eight prior conflicts.”
Regarding prospects for a peace agreement in Ukraine,he noted: “Sometimes both sides need time to fight, but this conflict will end in the not-too-distant future.”
Responding to a question about meeting Putin in Budapest, Trump said: “There is always a good opportunity for dialog.”
The president avoided giving a direct answer when asked whether Hungary should be “allowed” to purchase Russian oil.
On his request for Hungary to stop buying Russian oil, Trump stated: “We are reviewing this because it is challenging for them to obtain oil from other countries.”
Prime Minister Orbán remarked during the press conference that they were there to start “a new chapter” with the United States after damage caused by the previous administration had strained bilateral relations.
Orbán added that among topics discussed during his meeting with Trump would be Russia’s oil and gas supplies.
He emphasized: “If Hungary stops receiving Russian oil and gas, the consequences for our people and economy must be clearly understood.”
The Hungarian prime minister continued by saying he would discuss Hungary’s potential role in Ukrainian peace negotiations with Trump.
“Apart from Hungary,” Orbán stated, “all European countries want the war in Ukraine to continue.” he claimed only the United States and hungary among Western nations seek peace there. “Everyone except America and hungary prefers continuation of the fighting; many believe Ukraine can win but this is a misunderstanding.”
He added many European countries initially opposed involvement but were pressured by America’s previous government into supporting the war effort.
Orbán expressed understanding of Trump’s current determination “to do whatever it takes” to stop hostilities in Ukraine.
“I have come to America,” he concluded, “to contribute as much as possible toward President Trump’s efforts for peace.”
