Russia Rejects European Troika’s Positive Role in Iran Nuclear Case

Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in Vienna, wrote on X that permanent representatives from Iran, China, and Russia met on tuesday with Rafael Grossi, Director General of the IAEA, and his expert team.
He noted that ahead of the upcoming IAEA Board of Governors meeting, their discussion focused on exchanging views about issues to be addressed at this session.
The Russian envoy also commented on Germany’s, Britain’s and France’s role in resolving Iran’s nuclear issue: “The European Troika has every right to express their views but their ability to play a constructive role is highly questionable.”
Ulyanov added that Moscow, Tehran, and Beijing hold primary duty for matters related to Iran’s nuclear program and largely determine how these issues proceed.
The IAEA Board of Governors meeting will take place from November 19 to 21.
