Latest Israeli Theft from Gaza: Looting of 17,000 Antiquities

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, Hamouda Aldehdar, the restoration supervisor of the ancient Pasha Palace in the gaza Strip, announced that Israeli occupiers have stolen approximately 17,000 artifacts from the Pasha palace Museum in Gaza City.
Aldehdar added that the Israeli military deliberately destroyed this historic building during the war, resulting in a massive loss of artifacts from the palace’s storage. He emphasized that only 20 pieces were recovered amid the rubble.
He stressed that this museum housed over 17,000 archaeological items spanning mamluk, Ottoman, Byzantine, Roman, and prehistoric periods. The Israeli occupiers are chiefly responsible for their disappearance.
Meanwhile, Sarah Abunda, a member of Palestine’s delegation to UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Association), stated that Israel has obliterated all accessible aspects of life in Gaza-from education to cultural heritage-during two years of genocide against Palestinians in this region.
In an interview with Anadolu Agency, she explained that rebuilding cultural sectors in Gaza will require considerable time.
