Kremlin: Russia Will Not Attend Tomorrow’s Ukraine Talks in Istanbul

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Al Jazeera, the Kremlin issued a statement today, Tuesday, expressing regret over France’s agreement to sell 100 fighter jets to Ukraine. This deal was finalized yesterday between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris. Though, the Kremlin added that this development will not change the current situation on the front lines.
The statement criticized France for continuing to arm Kyiv’s regime and fueling ukraine’s ongoing war provocations.
The Kremlin also confirmed that Russia will not attend the talks with Ukraine scheduled for tomorrow in Istanbul.
Meanwhile, Steve Witkoff, U.S. President’s special envoy, is set to travel to Turkey on Wednesday, November 19th.He plans to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during these negotiations.
Turkish sources told Reuters that this visit is part of Washington’s so-called diplomatic efforts aimed at advancing peace talks regarding Ukraine.
Zelensky had previously stated that after traveling to Spain, he would visit Turkey and indicated that Ukraine is ready to present its initiatives for ending the war and negotiating with Russia.
