Gaza Media Office: Half of Gaza’s Population Receives No Food Daily

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and the Palestinian Information center, the Gaza government media office released a report stating that nearly 42 percent of Gaza Strip residents do not receive any meals during the day, while the remaining 58 percent have access to only one meal.
The report responded to claims by an Israeli coordinator who asserted that over one million meals are distributed daily. It emphasized that these figures represent a clear admission of Israel’s policy of deliberate starvation and control over food supply in Gaza.
the report noted that according to this Israeli coordinator,1.4 million meals are delivered daily in Gaza. Given a population of 2.4 million, this coverage reaches only 58.3 percent-meaning about one million people (42 percent) receive no food each day.
Receiving even a single meal falls below minimum survival standards. Assuming an average portion size of 400 grams per meal, total food entering amounts to just 560 tons per day, while actual needs range between 2,400 and 2,600 tons daily for Gaza’s population.
The Gaza government stressed these figures highlight that less than one-quarter of actual nutritional requirements are met through imports. Regarding claims about distributing 3.5 million loaves of bread daily, it stated this equates to only about 1.4 small loaves per person per day-a level insufficient even for children-indicating bread rationing and conditions approaching famine.
according to the statement, Israel reported distributing 270,000 food packages over one month-enough for just 1.3 million people-implying each family receives only one package monthly; far below minimal monthly needs.
The media office concluded these data demonstrate that Israel is not honoring humanitarian obligations or ceasefire terms but systematically blocks aid entry while intensifying its starvation policies against Gaza.
