US Congressional Media Expresses Concern Over Rising Political Violence

According to the English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency, The Hill, a media outlet affiliated with the U.S. Congress, reported that state lawmakers have voiced growing concerns about increased threats and political violence targeting them.
The report highlighted recent incidents in Indiana where several republican representatives who opposed a redistricting plan complained about harassment at their homes.
The hill noted that political violence and threats against state legislators have escalated due to local issues becoming nationalized and rising partisan radicalism. Lawmakers from both democratic and Republican parties in Utah, Oregon, and Illinois have also reported facing threats.
According to the report, harsh rhetoric from leaders-especially controversial remarks by Donald Trump-has exacerbated this “political violence.” This climate has negatively impacted recruitment for local political roles and forced lawmakers to increase personal security measures.
The Hill added that some states, such as Michigan, have responded by passing new security laws and protecting personal information of legislators.
