CNN Claims: Maduro Sets Conditions for Stepping Down

CNN, citing an unnamed source, reported that the President of Venezuela has expressed readiness ‍to step down after 18 months during informal talks with U.S. officials.

The English division of webangah News Agency cited Mehr news Agency and Russia Today, ‍reporting that ‌the⁣ U.S.network claimed Nicolás Maduro’s government has reached out to representatives‍ of former U.S. President Donald Trump to initiate dialog between the two countries. Some American officials have considered this proposal acceptable for resolving disputes between‍ Caracas ‌and Washington,but ultimately the White House insisted on​ Maduro’s immediate resignation.

On November 29, Trump announced via his social ​media platform truth Social that Venezuela’s ‍airspace would be​ closed.

Washington‌ accuses the Venezuelan government of failing to combat drug trafficking‌ effectively.

The U.S. Navy deployed a strike group-including the aircraft carrier Gerald⁣ R. ‌Ford, a nuclear submarine, and more than 16,000 troops-in the Caribbean Sea.

Since September,American forces have sunk at ⁢least 20 speedboats in the⁣ region,resulting in over 80 ‌deaths.

U.S. media outlets have ⁢repeatedly reported on⁤ potential ‌upcoming‌ military attacks against Venezuelan territory.

On November 27, Trump stated that washington would “soon”⁣ launch operations against drug trafficking originating from venezuela but did not provide further details.

Nicolás Maduro formally warned OPEC and OPEC+ about the consequences ‍of Washington’s plans to “seize” Venezuela’s vast oil reserves in⁢ a letter.‍ He said that America‌ seeks through military force to capture these enormous⁣ reserves-the largest proven reserves in the world.
