Theft from German Army Sparks Controversy

The English section of webangah News Agency, citing Mehr News Agency and Russia Today, reported that the German newspaper Die Spiegel revealed approximately 20,000 rounds of ammunition sent to a German army barracks were stolen. The incident has raised serious questions about how military shipments are secured in Germany.
The report states that the shipment was transported by a civilian logistics company. The truck driver chose to spend the night at a hotel, leaving the cargo unattended and unguarded in the parking lot.
Die Spiegel added that investigations indicate this theft was not opportunistic but premeditated. Consequently, concerns have intensified over stolen military supplies perhaps being transferred to organized crime groups.
